STEM Initiatives
Georgia Piedmont Technical College is committed to producing proficient and efficient employees in STEM and STEM- related careers. GPTC STEM Definition: STEM education is an interdisciplinary approach, coupled with real world and problem/project based learning.
The goals of the STEM Initiatives Department include the following:
Increase enrollment of STEM and STEM-related programs at the college
Develop effective marketing strategies to increase program visibility
Increase the productivity of STEM program advisory boards
Develop and strengthen community and industry relationships
Increase opportunities for middle and high school students to be exposed to STEM education via dual and joint enrollment and articulation agreements.
Identify and write grants to assist in supporting the college’s STEM initiatives and programs
